Well Hello October
Posted on October 3, 2019
In classic Heather style, I am just now getting back to my blog to update you guys! ❤ That doesn’t mean I don’t love you- it’s just the very last thing on my list these days. Truly. I do wish I had more time to get on here and share, but until my kiddos are all in school that probably won’t happen. The good news is… I am still alive and dancing PLUS I am still photographing beautiful humans endlessly. Take that as a win win!!
I try my best to share my images, stories and life on Instagram and Facebook as much as possible- but even that comes later on my list. I just want to soak up all the time I have with my family, friends and capturing memories for all those who choose to come my way. I love watching my clients grow up in front of my lens, year after year. And lately it has seemed to be going faster than ever. Tiny newborn babies I photographed 9 years ago are little, grown people. They’re telling me stories of their lives and who their first crush is. How does this happen so quickly. Goodness.
I need to stop myself before I go down that long road of memories.
North Carolina has been insanely hot this year and although it is October, we are still rocking the 95-100 degree weather. All of us (especially photographers) are begging for a cool break with some glorious Fall color.
My fall mini sessions are in full gear now so I won’t be coming back up for air until mid December. But here are a few images that are from the past couple months- for more you’ll want to find me on social media. 🙂 I hope everyone is ready to enjoy a beautiful Fall and joyful winter! Thanks for keeping up with my crazy world!

February 24, 2019 Lifestyle Maternity Session
I cannot believe it has been almost a year again since I’ve shared beautiful families and kiddos with the world on here!! Wowzers!! Hello procrastination!! I deserve a medal for dropping the ball on blogging. I’ll start from most recent and try to work my way backwards to catch you all up! Photography and reading emotions and people are my thing- but blogging and business jazz- is not. I am so grateful for another incredible year doing what I adore. You guys have no idea how happy it makes me to be able to capture all your memories and sweet moments. I love every second of it!! We have a ton of gorgeous families coming up for the peach blossom minis within the month and I know they’re going to take all of our breath away. Can’t wait to share!
For now let’s start with my dear friend Nila. Her and her hubby are due in April with their very first baby boy!! She is the most gorgeous mama to be ever- inside and out! She glows! I feel so fortunate to be able to photograph this time for them and I cannot wait to meet their little blessing. Newborn snuggles are in order!! I loved my time with her in Charleston, South Carolina and could easily just stay forever! We soaked up the beaches and the old city! The beauty is everywhere! I hope you can enjoy a few moments!!
Chat soon friends!! xx

I think it’s finally safe to say the words…IT’S SPRING!! The beautiful sunshine and warm/hot temps are here for good now!! Yippee!!!! We have all been waiting for this! Especially all of us that work outside, and really don’t enjoy the whole “April showers” thing! Anyways- cheers! With that being said, I’ve been SWAMPED with sessions!! Gorgeous families and kiddies and landscapes, oh my. I hate to hold out sharing with all of you, so in no great order- here are a few moments I’ve gathered this month! (below)
Also- a little housekeeping is hopefully coming along too. *Game plan- update my blog and website. Pray that it actually happens.
Lastly- when I emotionally can handle it, I will share with you all lots and lots of incredible images & memories of my favorite best buddy that passed away a week ago. Cooper was almost 14 years old and we had to say goodbye. He was the most loved and adored french bulldog on the earth. I am 100% sure I’ll never get over him (yes, tears flowing fast even now as I type this) but I hope soon I can honor him on here so you all get a little taste of how special he was to us.
ok.
now for the beautiful people. xx
First Day of Spring!
Posted on March 20, 2018
North Carolina has handed up hot sunny days and snow all in the same exact week. WHAT is going on?! I am so pumped to say Happy First Day of Spring. I hope NC gets the memo too.
I wanted to give you all a quick update on our Momtog Photography class from this past weekend. Mind blown. I didn’t know exactly what to expect with this first class but it was magical. I keep thinking back to the first time I picked up my first DSLR, and how I was completely lost. What I would’ve given to have a class like this at my finger tips. All the tricks and simple ways of learning the basics so we can actually capture our kids in decent photos. I think everyone learned a ton and had a blast while doing so. Shooting one on one with each photographer/momtog was key in my opinion. Hands on and VERY eye opening for all of us. I’ll share some photos at the end of some of the girls in action! 🙂
In other news, lots of babies are being born and lots of spring sessions are happening over here. Here are a few fun moments from the past week!! Hope you enjoy!!
The Graves Family added a new member to their tribe late last year, sweet lil Olivia- and I was honored to come to their home and capture some fun, real-life moments!! We had such a great time!
Then I spent time with the precious Lozeau Family in uptown Charlotte- and we danced and played in the rain!! We did get some “dry” moments too, but it was a blast either way! Their little man, Julian was such a sweet boy! I hope you enjoy a few of their memories!!
and lastly…a few pics from our momtog class! 🙂
Some personal FUN!

2 days in a row?! Now this is a big deal.
All you moms out there know how hard it is to get 3 minutes to your self. Especially when you start your day with two babies in your bed. (aka- who sleeps?!) But here I am- showered, dressed (well sort of. as long as pjs count), fed and sitting alone with my second (reheated twice) coffee actually blogging and emailing and editing away. It’s a big deal.
I am planning on keeping things simple around here. (I write like I talk. Those of you that know me, know this.) But I do want to share a few pics of my people with you guys. Isla Drew turned ONE. WHOA. I have 5 kids now and 0 babies. That hurts. I still want 100000 babies. Which I thought that feeling was suppose to go away once you were done having kiddies. Nope. Anyways, she’s awesome and loving and silly and truly a gift. Funniest little unicorn you ever did see. She adores her brothers and they are obsessed with her. She fits right into their crazy, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
Some of our sweet friends and family are in these photos as well. Life is so precious, I want to remember every moment. And every loved one.
Oh and some exciting news…my good friend Jessy (fab photog) and I are hosting our very first Photog Mama Photography class in a little over a week. I can’t wait to share all the fun with you guys. ❤
ok Happy Thursday beautiful friends!! xx

Oh look who it is– AGAIN!!! I bet you’re as shocked as me! Baby Isla is napping and my wild man, Beck is at preschool probably torturing his precious teachers with face licks! Life is sweet! ❤ This North Carolina weather has been so crazy lately and we have been so ready to start spring sessions with beautiful flowers! Here are a few gorgeous sessions from the past few weeks. Enjoy!!

Rewind to 2017 Fall/Winter

Let the images flow…and I smell spring right around the corner!! Lots of fun things going on this year and I can’t wait to share them all with you. ❤ ps- there are SOOO many more families and kiddos that I didn’t add here, but goodness this was another incredible year!!
Blogging isn’t for the weak.
Posted on January 26, 2018
Friends, I need to start off by apologizing for looking like I disappeared. I am alive. My photography is alive. And the best part…all my kids are still alive too. 🙂 Blogging and keeping up with one more thing is CRAZY hard. Mom life is super hard. Working Mom life is also insane hard. Guess what?! Life in general is hard, so no more complaining. 2017 turned out to be incredible. It started off rough, but quickly improved and we got back into the flow of being a family of 7. I will catch you guys up on all the fun details along the way but I am going to try hard to show you all a little of last year’s fun. TONS and TONS of gorgeous families and kiddos were in front of my camera, I felt so honored.
Another fun announcement…I am going to be doing more Mom life/Photographer life blogging here too. Updating you guys on life with 5 kids and bulldogs. Hopefully with awesome photos along as well. It’s not for the weak. Blogging in general isn’t. Seriously. I barely remember to brush my teeth most days. (for example- today.) But I think there are a lot of you out there going through some of the same stuff as we are. So why not share? Plus, I can actually re-laugh at all the insanity as I share. Just so you’re prepared, I won’t be posting perfectly poised and designed posts and photos. Just like my instagram and Facebook pages- you’ll get the real me. I know, I know- people enjoy seeing pretty posts. But I can’t think in that much detail anymore. Too much pressure. So, you’ll see my mess.
Cannot wait to start. But before I do- I need to share images that I’ve already finished this year. (Next post.) For now I’ll leave you with a quick pic of my own kiddos right before Christmas.
PS- HAPPY NEW YEAR FRIENDS.
PPS- Hopefully you actually understand what I just wrote.
xo
