In classic Heather style, I am just now getting back to my blog to update you guys! ❤ That doesn’t mean I don’t love you- it’s just the very last thing on my list these days. Truly. I do wish I had more time to get on here and share, but until my kiddos are all in school that probably won’t happen. The good news is… I am still alive and dancing PLUS I am still photographing beautiful humans endlessly. Take that as a win win!!
I try my best to share my images, stories and life on Instagram and Facebook as much as possible- but even that comes later on my list. I just want to soak up all the time I have with my family, friends and capturing memories for all those who choose to come my way. I love watching my clients grow up in front of my lens, year after year. And lately it has seemed to be going faster than ever. Tiny newborn babies I photographed 9 years ago are little, grown people. They’re telling me stories of their lives and who their first crush is. How does this happen so quickly. Goodness.
I need to stop myself before I go down that long road of memories.
North Carolina has been insanely hot this year and although it is October, we are still rocking the 95-100 degree weather. All of us (especially photographers) are begging for a cool break with some glorious Fall color.
My fall mini sessions are in full gear now so I won’t be coming back up for air until mid December. But here are a few images that are from the past couple months- for more you’ll want to find me on social media. 🙂 I hope everyone is ready to enjoy a beautiful Fall and joyful winter! Blog life…hmmm it’s not for me. Although, I think I’d be really great as an actual blogger. Like if that’s all I had to do. Just write about my crazy days and family and friends. I’d keep you guys entertained for a lifetime. For real. But unfortunately, this is just how I share a little bit of my passion and life with everyone. I wish I spent more time sharing…but it’s rough finding the extra time. Between the stacks of emails, memory cards, schedules, editing, more scheduling, learning, playing with my crazy boys, keeping my kiddos alive, keeping my doggies alive, keeping up with laundry, endless meals for everyone and well let’s be real- the endless list of to-dos….I’m just not sure how anyone has time to add blogging to their list.
I started this post last night, but then didn’t have time to finish it…so I’m back at it this morning. See what I mean?! Summer has been a whirlwind and I just dropped off our first little stud muffin to his first day of 2nd grade. I was doing fine until the radio played a depressing song for moms called “slow down”…yeah, I may have shed some tears. It really slaps you in the face. The years are flying by. Summers home with 4 kids are super long, but in reality I already miss it. The chaos will one day be completely different chaos, and I’ll miss every moment of the craziness that we’re in now. I am thankful for photos, and iPhones. I do my best to capture it all before it disappears. Ok done venting.
So I can’t even remember the last sessions I shared with all of you but I will share some from my last month of fun! I will also do my best to share more with you all during this CRAZY fall/winter season of sessions! I am so blessed with such extraordinary clients and cannot wait to see everyone again this year! ❤ I love you guys and cheers to school being back, pumpkin pies, and cool crisp air. YES!!!

The Summer disappears…

So as you all have noticed…blogging hasn’t been on the top of my list lately. Like for the past 8 months actually. eek! Which also means my itty bitty baby is 8 months old already! Where do the days go?! I have so much to share and post that I really don’t know where to begin. hmmm. Our crazy family has been bouncing off the walls and trees (as usual) and we haven’t had one moment to consider even a thought of boredom. I have been doing tons and tons of sessions all over the city and I’m loving all the gorgeous families and babies! I even had a chance to sneak in a couple camping trips and a fun commercial photo shoot on the beach for the fabulous Shades Kids in Florida! In between all the chaos my camera broke. That was not fun. Nikon took her in and gave her a lot of love…so we are together again! whew! Ohhh and our home is under contract and we are moving in just a few weeks to a new home in Davidson! Oh no big deal. Just packing up a house full of crazies and all their belongings. 🙂
I am going to do my very best to update you guys more often and keep you up to date on our move too! Say a little prayer. Hopefully I will survive the move and the beginning of school! Enjoy these gorgeous people. and all their love stories.

Another month passes…and I am still behind with blogging. darn. Actually it’s a month and a half to be exact. May is such a busy and fun month though. May brings on all the beautiful flowers and people…with very little rainy ruined days! NC has been blessed with incredible weather so I’ve had barely a moment away from my camera or computer. So many brand new baby miracles, graduates starting onto a new page in their lives and families coming together and sharing their stories with me and my camera. It has been full of blessings! And since today is the first day of June, I thought I’d celebrate with a new blog post and flood your eyes with my gorgeous clients! ❤
GOAL OF THE MONTH: I am going to try to bring my camera out for my own little dudes more…so hopefully I’ll have some new photos to share with all of you soon! And one day I will start a mom blog with all the ridiculous/hilarious stories that happen to us or around us on a daily basis. Maybe that will be next month’s goal. Seriously- you guys wouldn’t even believe all the craziness that goes on around the Ras home! 🙂

my quick personal update:
So I may play catch up with my blogging for my entire life- so I hope everyone is starting to get use to that! eek!! Apparently my kids, hubby, clients, dogs or house are in need of 99.9% of my hours in each day. I am not complaining- at all. Actually I am so grateful. Days are filled with good stuff and happy people. What a blessing! All three of our boys are now in some form of school 3 WHOLE mornings a week- so I am actually starting to get some time to sit and think again! Baby boy #4 is well on his way to taking over my body and so far so good! Still can’t believe we will be meeting him so soon! I plan on taking a couple weeks off when he arrives but no worries- I will be back in the saddle and photographing all my clients in 2015! I hope everyone is looking forward to the gorgeous fall as much as I am! ohhh pumpkin EVERYTHING and those colors!! I am over the moon! (plus it doesn’t hurt to enjoy a little bit cooler weather now that I’m packing on the baby bump pounds!) I can’t wait to see all my upcoming families and new babies…yay September is here!! xo
Now for this gorgeous family. This family makes me smile. Their session makes me smile. We had so much fun and they have so much love going on- it pours out in the photos! Their two little boys may have me wrapped around their pinkies too! I am sure you will see what I see…enjoy!!!
and oh I forgot to mention that their beautiful Queen Bee is a crazy talented and hilarious artist…so we had to grab a quick headshot as well! 🙂

Oh how I ADORE this family! They have always been such amazing clients and so so much fun to be around and photograph! They are perfect examples of why I love my job! The Rogers Family added another princess to their line up just recently…and she is just as fabulous as the others! When you are greeted at the door by two adorable toddlers how could you have a bad day? Ashley (mama bear) has mastered this baby stuff…she’s so impressive. Always so relaxed and easy going- where do I discover these characteristics within myself? hahaha! Little McLain slept just enough to capture exactly what we needed and what a fun challenge it always is getting three babies to stay still in front of my lens! You can probably picture it…lots of gummy bears and promises of yummy snacks! It’s even hard for me to sit still- so I get it! Wouldn’t we all rather be outside running around free? I love this family and ALL their photos from our session! I hope you do too!!

I cannot believe how incredibly fast this past year has gone! I feel like I was doing Cam’s newborn photos a short few weeks ago honestly! But apparently not– he’s getting ready to turn ONE!!! I love Megan and Robert (his cool parents)- they are hilarious and always make for a great time! Cam is such a cool dude too. His hair will melt you, and oh don’t forget those baby blues! He was such a happy guy for his session, until we brought out the cake! Maybe it was the melted cake that pissed him off but the poor little muffin was quickly over it! He still made for some awesome cake pics! I hope you enjoy!!

*Personal Update:
Some of you may have already heard the fantastic news about our little family, but for those of you who are still in the dark—- BABY BOY #4 is on his way!!! We are so excited to announce this little miracle to our family, friend and the world! He is already so loved! I am due towards the end of December this year but with the other 3 coming at least 4 weeks early- we expect him to arrive towards the end of November! I will be continuing to work as usual through our wild Fall season but will take most of December off with my growing family. Lots of celebrating up ahead!! God’s grace and plan once again, has truly amazed us! Thank you all for the support and love you have shown our family. I can’t wait to share another little love bug with you all! (lots of new baby photos will be pouring on here!)

Oh I got to snuggle so many squishy babes this month, and I loved every one of them! I am on a roll today and feel like I might actually get a few blog posts out for you all to enjoy! So here I go…
Brand new little Jake was a superstar! When people use the line “I slept like a baby”- they don’t have kids. But this little Jake did just that, and slept through it all. One proud Mom, and 2 proud Grandmothers helped and watched it all! Jake is loved and he will have no choice but to love his parent’s alma mater -the Auburn Tigers! He sported lots of awesome Auburn gear! Enjoy a peek at his beautiful session.

To all you bloggers out there, you rock. I give you mad credit. I have so little time these days to blog, but today I am sharing one of my many many sessions lately.
Sweet sweet Finn was welcomed into the world by the most precious new parents, Cathrin and Drew! I photographed this awesome couple many many years ago and was over the moon excited when they contacted me with great news of a baby on the way! 🙂 I couldn’t wait to meet little Finn once he arrived. He is perfect. Chubby little perfection. I just love him. He slept like an angel and was the best newborn model for us. I hope you enjoy a peek at his greatness!!
