So yes. I just realized that post I just blogged was my first post in 2016. oops. I forgot to mention…

HAPPY NEW YEAR beautiful friends!!! ❤

Spring fun!!! Bring on SUMMER!!!

Charlotte, NC    {family photography} {child photography}

Another month passes…and I am still behind with blogging. darn. Actually it’s a month and a half to be exact. May is such a busy and fun month though. May brings on all the beautiful flowers and people…with very little rainy ruined days! NC has been blessed with incredible weather so I’ve had barely a moment away from my camera or computer. So many brand new baby miracles, graduates starting onto a new page in their lives and families coming together and sharing their stories with me and my camera. It has been full of blessings!  And since today is the first day of June, I thought I’d celebrate with a new blog post and flood your eyes with my gorgeous clients! ❤

GOAL OF THE MONTH: I am going to try to bring my camera out for my own little dudes more…so hopefully I’ll have some new photos to share with all of you soon! And one day I will start a mom blog with all the ridiculous/hilarious stories that happen to us or around us on a daily basis. Maybe that will be next month’s goal. Seriously- you guys wouldn’t even believe all the craziness that goes on around the Ras home! 🙂

Bring on Summer and all it’s awesomeness!

xo Heather

The Cambruzzi Family

Cornelius, NC    {Family Photography, Child Photography}

I love when I walk into a family’s home and instantly feel like I was meant to be there, and we just click. Allie and Rob did just that. I think I laughed for almost 2 hours straight. It was great. I had just met them, and Allie’s adorable parents…but somehow felt like I had known them forever. This makes my job so much easier. Allie is so laid back and relaxed, and their handsome little man, Trip will grow up seeing that as well. Trip was around 7 weeks old when we did his session, and he was such a great sport! I hope you can see their sweet love in the few images I show you all…enjoy!

The Walsh Family

Lincolnton, NC   {family & child photography}

After months and months of trying to get our schedules to match up, I FINALLY got the precious Walsh family in front of my camera! Leslie and I had been back and forth way too many times to count, she deserves a medal. But of course we pick a bitter cold day to meet, and of course things didn’t go as planned. {do they ever?!} Their handsome little 4 year old Sutton wanted nothing to do with me or my crazy antics. After dancing, singing & lots of ridiculous jokes, I gave up. In all my years of photographing kids he’s the very 1st kiddo to defeat me. He won. He was not in the mood for playing or photos, and quite honestly it was so frigid out I am surprised that any of us lasted as long as we did. Hadley, his big sister was the sweetest little princess from start to finish. I think she enjoyed the extra love from mommy & daddy! We all have been here before- which makes me appreciate these images so much. We are always in new stages with children, and they’re constantly changing. Capture it while you can. Hope you enjoy!!!

The show must go on… {personal update}

It’s taken me a week to get on here to let you all know my crazy news…but here I am slowly pecking away at my iPhone with my left thumb. (Most of you know I take pride in my extremely fast texting & typing skills-so that alone is sad news!) Those of you that follow me on Facebook have probably already heard what’s going on- so ignore this!

Halloween morning I broke my right arm. Yep. True story. The granite countertop apparently got in the way of my ball catching skills. 2 sets of X-rays and 2 doctors later… I am in a neon pink cast. The ulna bone is cracked in half and slightly displaced. Yippee. 30 years and this is my first cast. I prayed for a cast as a little girl. I thought I wanted a pink one
That everyone could sign at school. I guess God answers prayers when he think the time is right. 🙂

Well, I don’t want to ramble on with my pecks…but I am down and out currently. I have 2 weeks why this giant cast on and it prohibits me from moving my elbow- so the camera cannot get to my face. Boo. Then hoping I can upgraded to a shorter cast after that will allow me
To resume my life of photographer fun.

I am doing my best to respond to emails, messages and editing as much as my left hand can handle. My 3 little boys are giving me a nice workload as well—so the show must go on.

Thank you all for your patience and trust in me! I have been overwhelmed with all the kind words, dinners, visits and every single helping hand. (Diaper changers get an extra pat on the back–thank you a million) I am so sad this happened during my busiest time of year but I am hoping to be back and healed ASAP!

Here are a couple iphone pictures of the bone and the cool pink cast I always wished for…

Blogging from my phone…

Charlotte, NC {personal pics}

Our lil family just returned home from a short but sweet vacation to Hilton Head Island and I wanted to let everyone get a quick peek at my lil happy place! 😉

Although I spent many hours on my computer inside a beautiful, newly renovated hotel room…my happy place was on the beach with my precious family. The boys were in heaven out there. Their freedom and simple peace reminds me of where my photography journey truly began. Our boys enjoyed every second barefoot, swimming, dancing and trouble-making— and that’s what really matters.

Kemp and I know how blessed were are and thank God every day. I have many fun sessions to share with you all of some incredible families, but for tonight I’m just sharing these couple images from my cell phone! I’m not in my office or glued to my computer…I’m in bed devouring some pumpkin doughnuts and thanking our Great God above. Hope you enjoy these and keep your eyes open for new blog updates this weekend and upcoming week!!

Ps- Happy OCTOBER friends!!!! Let the rush of Fall & Christmas begin!

Sweet Blakeley {HELLO WORLD}

Fort Mill, SC  Newborn Photography

Love this precious family, and couldn’t be any more excited for their newest addition– beautiful Blakeley! She joins her two gorgeous big sisters into this world of sparkly jewels, dress up, princess parties, ruffles, fluffy stuffed animals, singing, endless laughter and most importantly LOVE! Blakeley is such a teeny tiny peanut, and she was an angel for our whole session! Leah and Justin are incredible parents, and I know this little one will be loved eternally.  They are so blessed with these perfect little girls…and I am 100% sure there will never be a dull moment in their home! Enjoy their peek…

Baby Kellan

March 1, 2012: Cornelius, NC  {hello world session}

7 day old little Kellan was born into this world to 2 amazing parents. Dusty & Alex love this little guy to pieces, and you can see why- such a precious little bundle! We had a blast getting him to finally fall asleep, lots of chocolate for us while we waited, and I could’ve just squeezed him all day. I can’t wait to watch him grow up…he has a built-in best buddy, my little Kolt. 🙂 Hope you enjoy their sneak peek…

Jenna: Class of 2012

September 24, 2011: Davidson, NC  {Senior Session}

Our session was filled with drama, fun and lots of water…to say the least! Loved meeting and shooting this beautiful senior…she was so easy to photograph & always glowing. Minus the downpour of rain as soon as we arrived… the rivers of mud & animal poo we had to jump over, this was a fabulous shoot with lots of fun stuff to play with! Made me want to go back to being young & wrinkle free again. 🙂 Enjoy this beauty…
