I love when I walk into a family’s home and instantly feel like I was meant to be there, and we just click. Allie and Rob did just that. I think I laughed for almost 2 hours straight. It was great. I had just met them, and Allie’s adorable parents…but somehow felt like I had known them forever. This makes my job so much easier. Allie is so laid back and relaxed, and their handsome little man, Trip will grow up seeing that as well. Trip was around 7 weeks old when we did his session, and he was such a great sport! I hope you can see their sweet love in the few images I show you all…enjoy!

I can’t even believe it’s time to wish lil Walt a very happy first birthday, seriously? Where does a year go? I love love love this precious Shait Family! We changed up our traditional session scenery this time and met uptown in the North Davidson area for a little urban flare! After playing around the streets we went into the fabulous Smelly Cat coffee shop for a hot chocolate and some snuggling! So fun, always! Havens, their beautiful daughter gives me every possible reason to want to steal her away and add her to our family. Her singing and dancing brings in a crowd for sure! We ended with Walt’s cake smash, with a Fat Tuesday theme…this boy was born on one fabulous Tuesday! 🙂 I hope you enjoy…I love their love!!!

The Gray Family were so wonderful to photograph. Little Landen is absolutely precious and loved like no other by his mommy and daddy! Their first baby Panda joined us too and made it even more fun!! Did I mention how much I love animals? Especially doggies!!! I can’t wait to see this family again for Landen’s 1st birthday session!! Hope you enjoy!!!
With this being my second to last 2013 post, I just have to say how blessed I feel for meeting this precious family and all the others this year. My journey with photography is so different (as I am learning) from so many other photographers…I continue to want to learn, grow and improve daily in my camera, lighting and post-processing skills but way more then all that I want to know people. I want to hear their stories, and share their love. I grow personally (selfishly) in this skill much more then I ever expected or dreamt. I judge less, accept more…respect each & every life so very much more than I did when I began. I am learning to balance my great love for people, wanting to please and being the wife, mother and woman I am hoping to be. It isn’t as easy as one would expect. I appreciate all of you supporting me, and trusting in me. Thank you. xo

Shocker- we are 4 days in to 2014 and I haven’t completed my blogging for 2013 yet. (as I had planned) The goal was to finish up with the final 3 or 4 sessions and have them all posted by midnight when the ball dropped. The ball dropped, and I dropped the ball too because I chose my boys instead. I let my little guys stay up until midnight and dance with sparklers with their best friends and mine too. I hope no one really minds…because we are never promised tomorrow, or another year. Life is so precious. So here I sit, excited to finally blog my last few entries for 2013 and start posting all my fabulous new sessions in 2014! Happy New Year friends!!! Cheers to a healthy, happy, loving and blessed 2014!!!
Now for the Romano Family…
My year is not complete without photographing this wonderful family. I have captured their family’s love since the beginning. Angela and Mark are magnetic. They pull you in as much as they pull each other in. My heart grows larger when I am around them. They are real. They are strong. Their love endures all. I am so blessed to call them our dear friends. I survived this fall because of these two. Angela was there being my children’s other mom all hours of the day and night. (being injured with 3 boys wasn’t easy for me) I will never be able to thank her enough. I could bubble over for days and days about these two, but I must move on to their vibrant little boys!
Marek: this gorgeous 5 1/2 year old rockstar has a heart as big as Mother Teresa. He pushes every single button and person to the limit (with insane energy for days), but oddly enough it makes you love him even more. He has the fashion and style of a GQ model. I am still clueless on where this comes from. “Heather, you look beautiful, and I love your lipstick color.”- – what other five year old says this? Watch out parents…he will have all your little ladies under his love spell soon enough!!
Maddox: sweet, calm and HILARIOUS (without knowing it) 3 1/2 years old dude. Maddox wants to dance to his own beat, and relax without anyone bugging him. He has an old soul, and just goes with the flow. (most of the time) You can’t help but love Maddox too. His adorable quirks make you want to squeeze him tightly. He is the one to bring you a blanket when you are cold, and the first one to jump into your lap to snuggle every time. Love him!!
As you can probably tell- this family is very special to me, and I am so thankful for them! Their images capture them so perfectly…they truly love this much, and play this much, so I hope everyone can see what I see. And I wish that all of you get to experience a friendship this blessed in 2014 if you haven’t already!!!
Enjoy xo

I have missed the Clary Family. It’s sad when you go from seeing a family every 3 months for their watch me grow sessions, and then their baby turns one and you only get to see them once or twice a year. boo. But I don’t want to whine, so on a cheery note- I got to spend an afternoon and evening with the Clary’s. Their little Carter was as happy as can be until I got the bright idea of telling him to run around, and down he went- face first. The concrete wasn’t so forgiving, and the tears started flowing. 😦 {photographer fail} But after all that we still have some awesome images and LOTS of hysterical memories made!!! Enjoy!!!

Why don’t I shoot downtown more often??? I always ask myself that after I see what fun images I take downtown! It has been a year since I have seen the sweet Hill Family and their babies have grown so much!!! We ran around like wild monkeys and I was excited to see if any of the pics had everyone looking! Toddlers have their own minds, no doubt!! Carson is 3 and cracked me up the entire time. He was on a mission, and it didn’t involve the crazy lady with the camera. 🙂 Hope you enjoy this beautiful family!!

I hate to sound repetitive but I must have had a year of all my favs…because the Geers are at the top of my list for most fabulous families I adore photographing. It is wild how easy they make my job. It reminds me how it isn’t a job…and how much I LOVE what I do. Kelly & Greg have some of the sweetest, well-manered kids I have ever met, plus they couldn’t be any more adorable if they tried. Wonderful love shows in photos…look, and you will see. xxoo

I was honored once again of photographing one of my dearest friends, the Williams. I can’t explain to others how wonderful & grateful I feel when my friends trust me with such an important job of capturing their forever memories. I get all warm & fuzzy inside thinking about it. Christy & Trey are the closest thing I know to a fairytale. Their love seems magical…thats the only word I can come up with honestly. The have a special love, and as a photographer I picked up on it the very moment they stepped in front of my lens. Now with a third baby, life is much more chaotic and there is a lot less time to really focus on each other but they still stand strong. I love watching their family grow. I hope you enjoy their happy chaos as much as I do!!!
