Baby Tate {hello world}

Huntersville, NC ย  Newborn & Child Photography

The Hemrick Family were so so welcoming and sweet to me when I came to their home to meet their newest addition—handsome Tate. Plus, they knocked out their session like pros—and I fell in love with their daughter, Tess!! Such a loving and sweet family!!! Tate was the biggest fan of squishing up for me, but he did stay asleep the whole time I played at their home. ๐Ÿ™‚ perfect!! Hope you enjoy!!

Anthony is ONE

Charlotte, NC ย Family & Child Photographer

soooooooooooo far behind on all my blog updates…thank you rain for ruining our parades weekend after weekend. All the rain caused so many sessions to be rescheduled…causing my good weather days to be PACKED with fun sessions! Either way, I’m behind- but they’re coming. promise.

{ps- all the next updates will probably be short and sweet–sorry friends!!}

The sweet Preusse Family met me in the Midwood Plaza area of Charlotte and we bopped around the streets having fun. Little Anthony is soon to be one, so we ended with his cake smash. Unfortunately, the monsoon couldn’t wait for us to finish. Anthony fought through the wind and some rain for that yummy cake of his! And we all were stranded 2 or 3 blocks from our cars…great stories though. We had a blast though…hope you enjoy!!

The Osborne Family

Cornelius, NC ย  Family & Children Photography

So, the good news is…I got to photograph an incredible family this past weekend. The bad news is…I had 5 others that are having to be rescheduled due to yet ANOTHER icky, rainy & cold weekend!!! Fingers crossed that tomorrow begins the new spring streak of sunshine, warm temps and happiness all around!!!

Oz, Kim and precious lil Eli (9 months old) were rocking the 40 and 50 degree temps early Saturday morning, and yes they were dressed for spring. duh. It should be warm, and it should be sunny. ย Spring sessions aren’t suppose to look like a spring in Antarctica…thus we have the colorful and springy Osborne Family. We laughed and hung out…I love my fun chats with new friends, and I know that is deep down the real reason behind this so called “talent” of mine. One day if I were to lose interest in people, their stories, their dreams, and their loves then I would most likely go back to only photographing my own children. But as most people know…I can’t stop talking and asking questions. or a better way of saying it- I love to talk and I love to be curious to learn everything about how & why people tick. The Osborne’s adore their main man Eli- and I fell in love with him as well. He does this awesome little nose curl currently…and I want his Mommy & Daddy to remember it forever. I hope I captured the true beauty of this sweet sweet family!

Neely {hello world}

Charlotte, NCย  Newborn Photography

The Plate family welcomed their third perfect little girl into the world not even two weeks ago, and I am so blessed to be a part of it.ย  Baby Neely is one of the biggest babies I’ve photographed for sure, but there is something about newborn baby rolls that just steals my heart!ย  Neely wasn’t a fan of being snuggled up into a tight ball or tucked really at all…but towards the end she gave up and became a sleepy and squishy newborn for us! Her older sisters absolutely ADORE her and Lilia (the oldest) would probably take care of Neely all day long if someone would let her.ย  The middle sister, Evie instantly became my buddy…and she wanted to be in all the action too. Evie has the most gorgeous lips of any little girl I’ve ever seen. hands down. All three of the Plate girls are beautiful and their parents have a lifetime of boys to worry about… hope you enjoy!!

The Howard Girls

Charlotte, NCย  Children Photography

I am beyond blessed to be a part of the Howard Family’s world.ย  I am thankful I call each one of them my friend.ย  Lindsay and Matt are so dear.ย  I didn’t want to leave after we finished honestly…but for one, Matt ran out of beer and for two, he was starving- so they had to leave. But I am pretty sure we could have chatted the night away watching the sun set out in the fields. Good times for sure.ย ย  They have two absolutely gorgeous little girls. Ella is 5 and glows with happiness and love. She has the kindest soul. I adore her.ย  Kate just turned 3 and is just as beautiful. Her blonde hair and blue eyes melt me- and has a spice to her that will wrap anyone around her finger. The girls are precious together…always helping one another and doing what sisters are truly meant to do for each other.ย  Another fun addition to the family, is 10 month old Amos- their black lab puppy.ย  He is a charmer.ย  I cannot find one bad photo from all of their images…not one. So I hope you enjoy as much as I know Lindsay and Matt will ๐Ÿ™‚

SPRING FUN!!!

Lake Norman, NCย  Children & Personal Photography

With all these gorgeous blooms (plus the abundance of pollen covering every inch of our town, and sinuses), I decided I needed to stop off and grab a couple spring shots of our little monsters. Without them, I truly doubt I would’ve found this passion for child photography- or ever would’ve turned my camera off of auto to figure out what else it would do.ย  These boys are my world. {+God and my handsome hubby} oh, and Cooper and Dozer <our four-legged children>.ย  So, with that being said- it was a nice day and I had a last minute cancellation, so I took the boys out to eat and headed to a beautiful field of yellow flowers! Then I let the rugrats be themselves. To top it off I had a friend with her adorable son meet me there too…so it ended up as a fun playdate as well. You can never have too many photos of your own children. EVER. I know I have always been teased about taking too many of my kids- but I ignore the comments completely. Or laugh because within time they will have children of their own and say “wow, I now understand why Heather takes 10 million pictures of her kids each week.” Life is so short. Make it sweet, happy & fun! Hope you enjoy…Cade (4 years), Jax (2 years), Kolt (15 months) and Kellan (13 months), my sweet friend Alex’ son.

The Brady Family

Charlotte, NCย  Family & Children Photography

I absolutely enjoyed my evening with the adorable Brady family!! It was so warm out and their kiddies were in happy moods to play outdoors. Their smallest lil one- Ryan is the tiniest, most “doll-like” 6 month old girl I have ever seen!! She has these awesome big blue eyes and a giant smile. And Mr. Jackson was fun for me…I love little boys that are all boy! He wanted to show me cool stuff and hunt for new rocks- not take pictures, duh!!! Jackson just turned three and I am pretty sure he was instructing me of my job and what was going on in this world better than I could do myself. Fun family—I hope you enjoy a few shots of their evening!!

The Hammond Kids Spring 2013

Huntersville, NCย  Children Photography

First and foremost-ย  we are wrapping up Sophia’s 1st year sessions. Bittersweet. I cannot even believe how quickly this year has passed and how much Sophia has changed. I’m so glad we did these photos in some gorgeous blooming trees because it’s a great representation of Sophia. She is stunningly beautiful, sweet as they come and truly a joy to be around at all times. I know her parents feel beyond blessed to have her and her sister & brother. On that note, we decided it would be a great time to capture spring with all their kiddos…and we did exactly that. Our session was more fun than anything. The kids climbed trees, raced, sword fought with branches, and found all kinds of fun. Mia, Anthony and Sophia are all absolutely gorgeous children. So blessed.

The Hilliard Family

Huntersville, NCย  Family Photography

The Hilliard Family made the hike all the way up to Lake Norman from Cherryville for their family session with both sweet babies in tow– patience at its best. ๐Ÿ™‚ Maddi is 6 weeks old now and Trey is 3 and in full force for the holidays! I love their idea of a Christmas tree farm, and it actually worked out fabulously. They will have an excellent Christmas card this year and many memories for the walls this Christmas- enjoy!!

The Peterson Crew

Denver, NCย  Family Photography

Getting 22 people all in the same place, at the same time and all happy (including 11 children) is no easy task…but the Peterson family somehow managed to do it, and perfectly at that.ย  The Peterson’s have a beautiful home on Lake Norman that is regularly filled with all their beautiful children (5 total) and grand children (11), so they wanted to have their entire group together for photos.ย  I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many gorgeous kiddies in one place at one time! Here is a quick peek at their big, beautiful family!
