A family near and dear to my heart added another beautiful little girl to their growing family just recently…and I had been counting down the days to finally meet her! I love surprises, and none of us knew if this little muffin was a girl or a boy until she entered this world- so fun!! Little Miss Ellie is just perfect! She reminds me of her big sister, Mary Caroline. Since Christy and Trey didn’t do formal “newborn” photos with their first two little ones, they decided that it wouldn’t be fair to give little miss Ellie her own supermodel session either…so we captured the essence of their whole family. The kids are so excited to have a new sister…and that always makes me happy inside! And no, it is not normal to look this amazing after just delivering your 3rd baby- so don’t feel discouraged when you see how put together Christy is! 🙂 That’s just how Christy rolls…always pulled together perfectly and just as sweet as a peach. {yet another reason why we love her so much} The Williams Family truly radiate the love for each other that all families deserve to have…and those 3 little ones have a lifetime of fun and love ahead of them!! Another fun family session went down before we left for the beach…the Johnson family! I mainly focused on the center of their world, one year old Liam! He was hysterical. I absolutely love this age, the blonde hair and blue eyes didn’t hurt either. 😉 He made some fabulous faces and soon his parents will miss those funny faces! Liam and his parents were in town visiting his uncle and aunt- and Grandma came too! We had fun playing by the water on a gorgeous lake norman evening. Hope you enjoy…

So, the good news is…I got to photograph an incredible family this past weekend. The bad news is…I had 5 others that are having to be rescheduled due to yet ANOTHER icky, rainy & cold weekend!!! Fingers crossed that tomorrow begins the new spring streak of sunshine, warm temps and happiness all around!!!
Oz, Kim and precious lil Eli (9 months old) were rocking the 40 and 50 degree temps early Saturday morning, and yes they were dressed for spring. duh. It should be warm, and it should be sunny. Spring sessions aren’t suppose to look like a spring in Antarctica…thus we have the colorful and springy Osborne Family. We laughed and hung out…I love my fun chats with new friends, and I know that is deep down the real reason behind this so called “talent” of mine. One day if I were to lose interest in people, their stories, their dreams, and their loves then I would most likely go back to only photographing my own children. But as most people know…I can’t stop talking and asking questions. or a better way of saying it- I love to talk and I love to be curious to learn everything about how & why people tick. The Osborne’s adore their main man Eli- and I fell in love with him as well. He does this awesome little nose curl currently…and I want his Mommy & Daddy to remember it forever. I hope I captured the true beauty of this sweet sweet family!

The Plate family welcomed their third perfect little girl into the world not even two weeks ago, and I am so blessed to be a part of it. Baby Neely is one of the biggest babies I’ve photographed for sure, but there is something about newborn baby rolls that just steals my heart! Neely wasn’t a fan of being snuggled up into a tight ball or tucked really at all…but towards the end she gave up and became a sleepy and squishy newborn for us! Her older sisters absolutely ADORE her and Lilia (the oldest) would probably take care of Neely all day long if someone would let her. The middle sister, Evie instantly became my buddy…and she wanted to be in all the action too. Evie has the most gorgeous lips of any little girl I’ve ever seen. hands down. All three of the Plate girls are beautiful and their parents have a lifetime of boys to worry about… hope you enjoy!!

I am so excited for Stephanie and Stephen…they have such a cool story from when they met and how they’ve stayed together over the years, and are honestly just 2 incredible people. They picked a spot that I have used a couple times recently, and I actually think it’s a great spot for engagement photos—but I’m pretty sure every photographer in town was there that night as well. (which most people know, that’s why I like to go to private/deserted locations) I enjoy my time hanging out one on one with my clients…laughing and relaxing, plus going at our own pace. We had to dodge a crazy bride in a NEON red dress, hanging out of her NEON red car’s sunroof— which is 100% a first for me. 🙂 Although we were all freezing, we ended having a blast and laughing our frozen booties off. They are going to have a gorgeous wedding and a lifetime of sweet love….enjoy their beautiful moments.

I love that we’re nearing the end of September and it is still hot during the day and cool in the night- makes for wonderful temps for families. (and myself!) The Minners are such a wonderful family, and I absolutely love being able to introduce families to a different style of family photography. This is more common than not, a lot of my families are use to going to a studio for their family portraits (like the Minner Family) so changing it up and bringing them outside for some fun will get them a totally different look. Obviously I’m biased but I think moments captured being real represent this time in our lives better than a still shot with a backdrop. 🙂 Stacey and Jonathan are amazing parents and I hope their first experience with this was a good one. I loved watching all the fun interaction between all four of their blondies!! Hope you enjoy–

Nothing better then grabbing a giant, cold starbucks and heading downtown with 3 gorgeous Sophmores from UNC to capture some best friend moments! Kendyl, Bre and Kristin couldn’t be any cuter or sweeter…and we had a blast playing downtown in the morning sunshine!
