McLain is here!!

Mooresville, NC    {Newborn Photography} {Family Photography} {Child photography}

Oh how I ADORE this  family! They have always been such amazing clients and so so much fun to be around and photograph! They are perfect examples of why I love my job! The Rogers Family added another princess to their line up just recently…and she is just as fabulous as the others! When you are greeted at the door by two adorable toddlers how could you have a bad day? Ashley (mama bear) has mastered this baby stuff…she’s so impressive. Always so relaxed and easy going- where do I discover these characteristics within myself? hahaha! Little McLain slept just enough to capture exactly what we needed and what a fun challenge it always is getting three babies to stay still in front of my lens! You can probably picture it…lots of gummy bears and promises of yummy snacks! It’s even hard for me to sit still- so I get it! Wouldn’t we all rather be outside running around free? I love this family and ALL their photos from our session! I hope you do too!!

Newborn Finn

Charlotte, NC    {newborn photographer}

To all you bloggers out there, you rock. I give you mad credit. I have so little time these days to blog, but today I am sharing one of my many many sessions lately.

Sweet sweet Finn was welcomed into the world by the most precious new parents, Cathrin and Drew! I photographed this awesome couple many many years ago and was over the moon excited when they contacted me with great news of a baby on the way! 🙂 I couldn’t wait to meet little Finn once he arrived. He is perfect. Chubby little perfection. I just love him. He slept like an angel and was the best newborn model for us. I hope you enjoy a peek at his greatness!!

Enjoy!!

March goodies…a fabulous mix of beauty

Charlotte, NC      {family photography}  {child photography}  {newborn photography}

Spring is officially here…and other than the obvious gorgeous weather & gorgeous blooms everywhere– I’ve been MIA! No blogging, barely any facebook posts, and just getting enough time in the day to catch a few hours of sleep— yes, this is Spring. I have been spending most of the past month trying to catch up on all the sessions that were rescheduled from all the nasty weather this winter too. Hello crazy town.

In the last month I did manage to finally start a photography instagram page, which is exciting.  ( username: HeatherMariePhotographyNC )  I love posting sneak peeks from the back of my camera on there. And giving a little preview of my own crazy life as well. oh, which reminds me…HAPPY EASTER friends!! I hope everyone celebrated with all their loved ones and enjoyed such a special day! ❤

Now to share a few shots from the past month! I won’t be doing my full blog posts with these but I adored each and every one of these sessions! I will be back to my regular blogging soon, PROMISE!!

Thank you for taking the time out of your fabulous Spring to check these out!!!

xo Heather

Personal housekeeping first:

Playing catch up today in my office…so by the time the sun sets tonight I will officially have office hours! How exciting is that?!?! I have finally decided that it’s the best thing for my clients, my family and my sanity! I will be sure to post them very soon!  Also, keep an eye on my facebook page for my spirng mini sessions! I should be posting those today as well! And lastly…I finally sucked it up and opened up an instagram account for my photography…if you’re interested, check it out and follow me @HeatherMariePhotographyNC   Looking forward to seeing you all soon! xo

Now for the Stroupe Family’s precious new arrival!! Kristen and Justin have been together for almost as long as I can remember…they are seriously just perfect for one another.  I have known Kristen for so long, that when I look back through childhood photos I ALWAYS come across a few of her! I have always adored her, and her kind soul! I had such an awesome time at their home meeting lil Mr. Hayden!  He is a peanut and I just wanted to squeeze him! He looks to me like a lil man, and there is no mistaking him for a girl! (in my opinion!) Anyways, we laughed and just soaked up the morning with this lil man and I am so happy for their family of now 3! I am sure they are enjoying every single second of this precious time together!! Here’s a tiny peek at lil Hayden!! Enjoy!!

The Fergen Family of now 6

Charlotte, NC   {family photography, child photography}

A few short months ago I was contacted by this amazingly sweet mother, Kansas about a last minute photo session in Charlotte.  Kansas and her family were flying into town the next day from South Dakota to begin their journey of adoption for the second time. 🙂 I knew from the moment we spoke on the phone that there was something special about this family. (duh…everyone knows I have a 6th sense about people!)

Fast forward a week or so, I met Kansas and Danny and their new little boy–their photos melted me, but their crazy love is what really overwhelmed me with happiness.  They had left their other three children in SD with family while the adoption ran it’s course.  So, I wasn’t able to meet their complete unit, but I just knew God had brought us together for a reason. 10 minutes after we left our session, they received a phone call that changed their paths completely. The birth mother had chosen to take her son back. WOW. Can you even imagine?  Seven days with this little baby as your own.  It ripped my heart out. I can’t even grasp what it did to theirs.  ok…so the story doesn’t end sadly—-

I learned so much about God’s Grace over the next couple weeks, as I watched this beautiful new family ache and pray over what was God’s plan for this child. Although they did not understand or know why this child (for which they prayed) would’ve been given & then taken back, they prayed and stayed strong. I kept in touch with Kansas through it all. And I can’t even begin to tell you all the tears I shed and prayers I prayed for all of them. It changed me.

Now, fast forward a couple more months…as I pulled into Starbucks it began to snow. (Us Southerners think that’s kind of a big deal…and of course I did!) I was smiling from ear to ear as I opened my car door. Then I heard a text come through my phone- it was Kansas.  It said “Are you free this week to take pics??? We are on our way to NC to pick up our baby boy, he’s 10 days old and he is ours! We could not be happier and we are bringing all our children too!!”  Yes, you bet I stood there in the middle of the road with giant crocodile tears of joy rolling down my face.  I was flooded with happiness. Can you imagine their own version of this story?

A few days later, I met their beautiful new son, Daeston Job Christian. I also met their other beautiful three children, Coyer (6), Kedren (4) and  Baylic (almost 2).  It was God’s plan all along. We played in the snow until the kids were miserably cold, and we captured their expanding family bubbling with the greatest love.  I am so fortunate to have been brought into the Fergen Family’s life. I wish I could explain it better with my words. But I’m sure you guys are all filled up with my stories for one day. 🙂

I hope you all have a better understanding of how much strength is needed to adopt, let alone to be able to give your child up for adoption. I have a new found  appreciation of adoption as a whole. Their love shines so strongly in these photos, and I hope you enjoy them!

Another beautiful family is blessed with a gorgeous & healthy baby boy!! I am so blessed to have been able to capture such a special time of their lives for them! Stephanie and James welcomed their little man Jackson to this world earlier this month and they seem to have mastered this “baby” stuff already! It has to help that he is so so cute! I hope you enjoy a few of their precious images…

The Thompson’s welcomed their newest addition to the world just a week before I got to meet him…perfect lil Max. 🙂  I was so thrilled for their family when I heard they were expecting another little one…and I knew the big sister Stella would be amazing! I spent the morning in their home snuggling Max, chatting with the family & yes, I suppose we took a few photos as well! 😉 I love when I get to visit a client’s home and see all my images covering their walls. It just makes my week!! Hope you enjoy some of their happiness!!

baby Edith

Charlotte, NC   Newborn photography, child photography

I loved meeting the brand new Sheedy family of three, and capturing their perfect lil bundle- Edith!! And just like most of the newborns, Edith decided to have her first big day of NOT wanting to sleep when I arrived. 🙂 Luckily after some sweet love, full belly & warmth she could no longer fight it, and passed out perfectly for us! Hope you enjoy a peek at their special memories!

Cameron {hello world}

Charlotte, NC    Newborn Photography,  Family Photography

What man enjoys giving up his football Sunday for family photos??? Yep, I hear crickets. No one that I know.  So I knew when we scheduled a morning session for the Mayes Family it couldn’t last hours and hours. 🙂 Robert and Megan were awesome. And their new little man, Cam ROCKED it. I couldn’t believe how perfect and tiny he was for being a month old already. I had hopes of getting a few “newborn” shots of him, but assumed he would be too old to squish up into gooey perfection for us.  I was wrong…being a month early, gave us an extra month of newborn shots! YAY!  I loved hanging out with the Mayes’ and cuddling their precious Cam.

Enjoy!!!
