I love receiving fabulous emails from expectant mothers announcing their exciting news…the precious bundle has finally arrived. Emily and Zac did just this a couple days ago and we quickly made plans to photograph their new lil peanut. Only a few days old, little Sims was just perfect. Slept pretty much the whole time we played with him and didn’t even stir when his big sister, Emerson would squeal with excitement. Such a happy and fun family, and I am so glad I was able to spend the morning with them. Less than a year ago I was photographing their little family of three for their Christmas cards, and now a perfect family of four. Enjoy…
Gilmore {6 months and counting}

I am still in shock that lil Gilmore is already 6 months old. I feel like it was yesterday that I was first meeting her sweet parents in the freezing cold…with yes, my newborn’s bottle warming in my shirt. (classy, I know.) This is such a special family with so much love between them all. I am so grateful to have met them and to see them often to photograph their beautiful family. Gilmore is so soft, quiet and curious. She takes it all in and watches the world around her…as if she is coming up with a game plan to save the world. When she smiles…she lights us all up. Oh, I’m such a softy for true love. Enjoy.
Michigan Vacation

After 17 long, grueling hours in our giant SUV (that seemed so tiny filled with 3 kids and too much luggage) we finally made it to Michigan. I’m pretty sure I listened to 12 straight hours of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Two different episodes of closed down highways due to car wrecks, slowed down the trip even more. But we made it- all in one piece and safely. For the first time in four years I was able to read some of a book and my husband was able to listen to 15 hours worth of podcasts that were up his alley.
I normally don’t post personal updates on here but thought I’d post a cell phone photo or two of my bunch once we arrived and went to the beach. Although it wasn’t hot, we had a great time running around!
PS- this is the longest I’ve been away from my baby (my giant editing machine iMac) since I started. It’s on vacation too!

Oh I was so excited to get my hands on this tiny little muffin…little Miss Maggie! One week brand new and this little princess already melts everyone that sees her! You can feel the love from the moment you walk into their warm home and even more when you see her beautiful Mommy, Beth snuggle her. Her perfect thin fingers and baby doll face…oh I can’t wait to watch her grow!! Maggie has two older brothers and an older sister to watch over her and protect her through life, it makes my heart happy. Maggie did not want to be tightly balled up or posed in any way, shape or form. She was very content with her arms and legs completely stretched out, I guess she was tired of being squished in her lil mommy! Loved spending the morning with such a wonderful family, hope you enjoy their peek!

The Martin’s are wonderful friends of mine and their oldest daughter is my oldest son’s angelic girlfriend. They met in their 2 year old preschool class and have been in puppy love ever since. Their family moved to Kansas a year and a half ago and finally came back for a long visit…we were all excited! I am so happy to be able to share of few photos of their beautiful family…I can’t imagine having three little princesses, but they are pros at it! Hope you enjoy…

I am so behind on my blog posts this week– I apologize!! It’s been a whirlwind week with tons of sessions and editing…and my three wild boys have been non-stop as well!
Loved meeting the Kugler Family! They made the trek up to the lake area from the other side of the city, lake Wylie. Petyon (2) gave made me work to break through to her silly side, and sweet Griffin (1) instantly smiled from ear to ear! We played, picked grapes off the vines and hunted for “farm cats” as Peyton would say! At the end of our session we let Griffin have his way with an awesome smash cake!! First birthdays are so much fun and make for fabulous, messy pictures!! Hope you enjoy their sneak peek…

Love meeting new people…but love it even more when they’re awesome and super laid back! Lisa called me a week ago and hoped I could squeeze her daughter in for some “late” senior photos before she left for college this upcoming weekend–we made it happen! I’m also a believer in the more kids you have, the more laid back and easy going you are. 🙂 Justine and I hung out, chatted and became friends within a few minutes. She’s off to NC State in less than 4 days and I’m quite certain she will have the time of her life! PLUS, she turns 18 in just a few days~ so we’ll call this her 18 year old super model photo shoot! 🙂 Loved our time together and we finished up right as the sky let out! Hope you enjoy her peek!!

How lucky is THIS girl?! I got my hands on two precious little nuggets in past two days! After doing the Rogers’ maternity/family session I couldn’t wait to meet their newest member- Emory Grace. She is perfect. Mommy, Daddy and Big Brother Bennett are perfect too. I really enjoy coming to the family’s home and just being a part of their beautiful mess…lets me capture real life. Emory has been an amazing baby so far, and I hope she stays that way. Bennett wants to be a boy, and squeeze her with all his GIANT love. {just like big brothers do!} This is a gorgeous family and I loved every minute of my day with them…
ps- it made my heart smile a little bit more when I saw my maternity photos we just recently did printed beautifully all over their home…another moment that reminded me of exactly how much I adore what I get to do. 🙂

Kristy and Ricky had their first little one a few weeks early and she is just precious. Light colored hair and just tiny. I think a huge part of my passion with photography is meeting new people, learning about their lives & loves and sewing their story into photographs. People are my passion…I’m sure many people can survive without talking to anyone all day. I am NOT one of those people. I need to talk to thrive, so I apologize now for talking your ear off. I do love to listen and observe just as much. I adore making new friends daily…and photography has taken that to a whole new level. I build friendships and really cool relationships with my clients, and it makes me whole. 🙂 Some days I must need to chat more, and John & Tiffany met me on one of those days…we stayed out well after dark, watching the lightning over the lake and just chatting. They are such a fun couple with so much laughter in their future. Their first little bundle of joy is due to arrive in October and I can’t wait to squeeze him already!
